About Unity Racing

History Of Unity Racing

Who is Unity Racing?

We are a local F1 in Schools team based at Scarborough UTC. Recently we competed at the Lenovo F1 in Schools National Finals where we came 2nd qualifying us to the world finals in the Middle East. Our team consists of two past teams who both competed at the National level. One half of the team comes from Sabre Racing and the other comes from Samurai Racing.

What is F1 in Schools?

F1 in Schools is an international STEM competition for school children, in which groups of 3–6 students have to design and manufacture a miniature car out of the official F1 Model Block using CAD/CAM design tools. The cars are powered by CO₂ cartridges and are attached to a track by a nylon wire.

What have we accomplished?

Regionals: 1st Place Overall (Yorkshire & Humber Champions) - Best Engineered Car Award - Best Team Identity Award

Nationals: 2nd Place Overall (English Champions) - Best Pit Display Award

What are our goals for the World Finals?

We are currently raising money trying to reach the £35,000 mark to be able to compete at the 2024 Aramco F1 in Schools World Finals. These costs would cover: Travel Costs, Uniform Costs, Car Manufacturing Costs, Pit Display, Entry Fees and Utilites.

We are also working with industry professionals to gain advice on how to display our work as well as possible and how to stand out from other teams. Our overall goal is to win the World Finals and pass on our skills and help future UTC teams in their F1 in Schools campaigns.
