Who are SBA Ancor?

We are a local STEM Racing team based at Scarborough UTC. Recently some of our members competed at the 2025 Aramco STEM Racing World Finals Singapore where they came 3rd in the world winning the FIA Scrutineering Award. Our team now consist of new members working towards the ultimate goal of becoming World Champions!

What is STEM RACING?

STEM RACING (Formely Known As F1 In Schools) is an international STEM competition for school children, in which groups of 3–6 students have to design and manufacture a miniature car out of the official F1 Model Block using CAD/CAM design tools. The cars are powered by CO₂ cartridges and are attached to a track by a nylon wire.

What have we accomplished?

Regional Finals 2026: 1st Place Overall (Yorkshire & Humber Champions) - Best Engineered Car Award - Fastest Professional class car.

World Finals 2025: 3rd Place Overall - FIA Scrutineering Award
